Chestnut Ridge(f)-near Deerfield quartz crystals (rarely with ruby sphalerite inclusions)

SPHALERITE-BEARING QUARTZ

Bath County-

Sphalerite crystals (of the “ruby zinc” variety) have been found to occur as inclusions in quartz crystals at Chestnut Ridge. To the present three individual crystals and one twinned crystal have been found.
