Welcome to the Virginia Rockhounder Rock Shop.
I (David) will be running this online shop while also doing Gem shows and other events. My wife (Debbie) will be helping out if need be.
Our aim is to supply you with rocks and minerals in different and unusual ways, sorry no "made in China" items here, maybe minerals from China! I enjoy cutting and polishing locally found and other stones (lapidary work). I wire wrap and silver/gold smith/ brazing. I will also offer self collected rocks and minerals for sale. I do offer minerals and rock shop items from old collections I have purchased over the years. Two collections where from fellas who had Rock Shops. I have purchased about 12 collections ranging from the late 1930s to late 90s. All but one of the previous owners has move on to the big rock hounding area beyond this earth.
If you are unable to find what you are looking for does not mean it is not available, so please send your request from the Contact David page. I aim to answer all emails ASAP. If you have a special stone you would like to have polished or set for personal adornment or enjoyment, I would be happy to talk with you about options.
Some items I looking forward to adding: Virginia\'s (unofficial) State Stone "once proposed as the State rock of Virginia."[ Unakite] worked in maps and other shapes. Rockbridgite - only mineral named after a county in Virginia. Nelsonite - a rock named after Nelson county where it\'s 1st. occurrence was reported. Blue Quartz from Nelson county and other Virginia areas. Hokie Stone - the rock used in Virginia Tech campus buildings. Amazonite from Amelia county, Virginia (I feel it should be VA\'s state gemstone!). There will be more to come also!!
Paypal is accepted for you purchases on this site.
If you happen to come across a section of the site not working or you find any broken links I would appreciate you letting me know, Thanks in advance, David.
